Colonel Dr. Markus Reisner is a General Staff officer serving in the Austrian Armed Forces. He is the Superintendent of the institute for officer's training at Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt and author of books and articles on military history and the future of war. He served in the Jagdkommando, the Special Operations Forces unit of the Austrian Armed Forces and was deployed in different conflict zones. He spent significant time in the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq, Chad, Central Africa, and Mali.

The war in Ukraine entered its third summer and the situation on the ground has been changing dramatically. Russian forces are slowly advancing in Ukraine, while the Ukranian army entered the Russian territory. What are the implications?
