Richard Kollar is an applied mathematician. He studied at University of Maryland, and worked at University of Michigan and University of Minnesota. Currently he works as an Associate Professor at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. His research scope is broad from mathematical modelling in biology, physics and chemistry to stability of nonlinear waves. During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemics he devotes most of his time to studies of the epidemic dynamics and related issues and he regularly advises the Slovak government. He also cofounded the multidisciplinary brain trust of Slovak scientists and experts Veda pomaha - COVID-19 that plays an important role in advising both the government and the general public in Slovakia during the pandemics.
